QR Code Generator
Type a link or some text — a QR code appears in this tab, ready to download.
The pattern contains exactly this text. Nothing is uploaded.
The SVG scales to any size. The PNG is exported at 512 px.
The safe default for screens, labels and normal print.
The white border is part of the code. Four modules is the standard and the safest choice.
Paste a link or type any text. The code appears here, ready to scan, download or paste into a poster — without leaving this tab.
01 Capability
What it does
Small details that make the job quicker.
- Builds the QR matrix locally with the bundled qrcode library. No image service, no redirect and no account.
- Updates as you type, with the real version number and module count so you can judge how dense the code is.
- Exports a vector SVG for print and a PNG at the pixel size you pick, with a proper white quiet zone.
- Lets you set the quiet zone and error correction, the two settings that decide whether a small or damaged code still scans.
- Refuses more than 2,000 characters with a clear message, and explains when the chosen correction level cannot hold the text.
- The code contains exactly what you typed. It does not expire, and there is no Astra short link between the scan and the destination.
02 Questions
Questions
Short answers, no small print.
Does the QR code expire?
No. This is a static code: the pattern contains the exact text you typed, with no redirect and no Astra server in the middle. It will work as long as the destination address works. If you need to change where it points later, make a new code and replace the printed one.
Can I change the link after I print it?
Not with a static code. Editing the text changes the pattern, so an old printout still points at the old address. If the code is going on thousands of flyers, point it at a short link you control and update that link instead — but remember that adds a redirect and a third party between the scan and the page.
Which error-correction level should I choose?
M, about 15% recovery, is the right default for screens and normal print. H, about 30%, helps when the code will be small, curved or partly covered, but it stores less text and produces a denser pattern. L, about 7%, fits the most text; use it only when the code will be large and clean.
What size should I download?
Use SVG for anything printed: it stays sharp at any size. Use PNG for a slide, a web page or a label, and start at 512px or larger. Always scan the final size on the real surface, not zoomed in on a monitor.
Is my text or URL sent anywhere?
No. The QR matrix is built in this tab by a bundled JavaScript library. There is no upload, no image service, no short-link API and no analytics call. The PNG and SVG files are created from local data.
Why does a long text fail?
A QR code has a finite capacity, and higher error correction uses more of it. Astra also stops at 2,000 characters so the result stays reliable. Shorten the text, use a link, or choose a lower correction level. The error names the limit instead of drawing a code that may not scan.
