Turn a URL into a QR code

Percent-encode a URL with query parameters, then turn the encoded link into a scannable QR code.

Why this recipe exists. A link with spaces or symbols in its query string can break when it is copied, shortened or printed. Encoding it first keeps the address intact, and the QR code makes it scannable on a phone.

03 Edges

If it breaks

One concrete edge case per step.

  • URL Encoder & Decoder: An incomplete percent escape such as “%2” shows “That percent escape is incomplete. Every % must be followed by two hex digits, like %20.”
  • QR Code Generator: Input over 2,000 characters shows “That is too long for a reliable QR code. Shorten it or use a link.”
