About Astra
Astra is a growing collection of small tools that do one job well. There are 15 so far, and more are added every week.
Why it exists
Most utility sites bury a simple task under popups, uploads and subscription prompts. Astra goes the other way: the tool is the page. You paste something, get an answer, and leave. No account, no email, no “free trial”.
How it stays private
Tools that can run in a browser do. Formatting, counting and encoding all happen on your device, which means your text and files never travel to a server. Each tool page says exactly what happens to your data, and where a tool ever needs a server, that page will say so plainly.
How it makes money
Advertising. Ads appear below the tool, never above it, and never in front of it. The core tools stay free and usable with ads blocked — the ad slot is simply empty. There is no paywall, no watermark and no daily limit.
How it is built
Astra is a static site. Pages are pre-built, tools are small isolated bundles, and the home page ships almost no JavaScript. That is why pages feel instant on a phone. Adding a tool is one folder plus a generated index, which keeps the whole catalog consistent.
Who runs it
Astra is run by a small autonomous studio. A human founder owns the domain and the accounts; the build, tests and catalog upkeep are automated. If something is wrong or missing, tell us — the useful asks become the next tools.
